«CelloTango» — it’s a classic, and not only, its in our own way music, its an adaptation of different musical styles and genres, filled with powerful energy, vivid images and brave improvisations that are collected on that CD.
New style of that music will open for listeners world of inspiration and positive emotions.
Cellist Borislav Strulev, whose dynamic playing and performance style is usually associated with flamboyant virtuosity backed up by a masterful sound all his own — the equivalent of musical fireworks. Here, in contrast to his reputation as a soloist, his singular tonal quality is one of consistent restraint and generosity to his accompanist, pianist Sergei Yerokhin; the result of which is highly expressive, soulful, and — thanks to the DSD! — fresh.

Noizepunk and BorisLove
“Eclecticism that opens new horizons in the perceptions of music”
The New York based duo Noizepunk & BorisLove are combining elements from classical, jazz, electronic, house, hip-hop, experimental, ect. It is hard to put into one word the genre of music they are playing, hence they do not try to classify. The originality lies in the openness to musical sound in all its forms, in getting out of the box which constricts our understanding and this duo does just that.
Review by Alex Henderson:
This CD wasn’t designed with musical purists in mind — Paganini: After a Dream isn’t for jazz purists any more than it is for classical purists or Latin purists. But the more broad-minded listeners will appreciate the fact that violinist Regina Carter plays quite lyrically throughout the album whether she is turning her attention to Maurice Ravel’s «Pavane Pour une Infante Défunte» and Claude Debussy’s «Rêverie» or Luiz Bonfá’s «Manha de Carnaval» and Argentinean tango innovator Astor Piazzolla’s «Oblivion.» The people who join Carter on this disc include, among others, conductor Ettore Stratta (who serves as co-producer) and cellist Borislav Strulev — and thankfully, Carter manages to provide an album that is extremely lush.
Black Orpheus (Manha De Carnaval)
Après Un Rêve
Review by James Manheim:
Crossover fans have been primed and ready for this disc. With a silky-voiced and charismatic young opera star in mezzo Denyce Graves, sultry Latin American material whose composers never worried too much about what was classical and what was popular, and first-rate jazz-sized backing groups that put the singer front and center while adding subtleties of their own, The Lost Days sounded like the album that was going to blow open a smoldering place for operatic singing on adult alternative radio.

Arielle Dombasle is a French-American singer, actress, director and model. Her breakthrough roles were in Éric Rohmer’s Pauline at the Beach (1983) and Alain Robbe-Grillet’s The Blue Villa (1995). Pianist Roger Kellaway can swing hard and has played with everyone from Sonny Rollins to Joni Mitchell. His knowledge of music is encyclopedic and his pianism is instantly recognizable for its airy, sparkling quality, flowing from a singular skill he has to incorporate stride, swing, boogie and more into something totally modern.
If further evidence was needed of Kellaway’s diversity, the Russian classical cellist Borislav Strulev joins the festivities for the leader’s «All My Life.» The chamber-style duet is as deep and passionate as it is resonant.

A sexually and racially charged film noir from Oscar-nominated director Lee Daniels (Precious), The Paperboy takes audiences deep into the backwaters of steamy 1960s South Florida, as investigative reporter Ward Jansen (Matthew McConaughey) and his partner Yardley Acheman (David Oyelowo) chase a sensational, career-making story. With the help of Ward’s younger brother Jack (Zac Efron) and sultry death-row groupie Charlotte Bless (Nicole Kidman), the pair tries to prove violent swamp-dweller Hillary Van Wetter (John Cusack) was framed for the murder of a corrupt local sheriff. Based on the provocative bestselling novel by Pete Dexter (Mulholland Falls, Rush), The Paperboy peels back a sleepy small town’s decades-old façade of Southern gentility to reveal a quagmire of evil as dark as a Florida bayou.
The Paperboy is a 2012 American thriller film starring Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron, John Cusack, and Nicole Kidman. Directed by Lee Daniels, it is based on the 1995 novel The Paperboy by American author Pete Dexter. The film competed for the Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
A scientist living in Tokyo is sent to a small Canadian town to study the tides in this visually inventive feature from director Manon Briand. Suspecting that the cecassion of the tides may indicate an impending earthquake, Seismologist Alice (Pascale Bussieres) arrives in her hometown of Baie-Comeau, Quebec to commence her investigation. Soon confronted by numerous figures from her past, the unusual weather and inexplicable behavior of the citizens lead Alice to believe that something beyond her comprehension is occurring to her old hometown. With a mysterious waitress (Genevive Bujold), a lusting woman, a pack of nuns, a sleepwalking child and a widower pilot who grows ever closer to Alice all factoring into the strange goings on, it seems as if human emotions may have somehow played an integral part in the sudden climate shift. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Peasant Women of Ryazan (Babi Riazanskic)
Title Peasant Women of Ryazan (Babi Riazanskic)
Director Olga Prebrazhenskaya
Duration 1hr 10mins
Format Vhs video, Umatic video
Description Set in the years 1916-18 Peasant Women Of Ryazan portrays life in a close-knit rural community in Revolutionary Russia concentrating on the oppression of women in that community. The film revolves around two women — one who accepts an arranged marriage and the other who rejects the old traditions and rebels against her family. The lives and struggles of the women are presented in great detail — spinning, weaving and harvesting the corn. ‘ Peasant Women of Ryazan is one of the greatest and most beautiful films that has ever been made. It combines construction, beauty and dramatic power together with beautiful photography. But the negative was destroyed in the fire at the Afifa works last autumn and it is said unless a copy was preserved in Russia it is unlikely the picture can ever be shown again.’ (Bryher — The Problems of Soviet Russia, 1929) Olga Preobrazhenskaya was born in 1884. She directed or co-directed over 16 films of which Peasant Women Of Ryazan is generally considered to be her finest achievement.
